The Sisters


THE SISTERS HAYES, (Christina, Esther and Rebecca) are a trio of sibling artists living and working in Melbourne. With collective skills in painting, costume and set design, animation, film & photography the familial group make diverse collaborative works.

The Sisters Hayes recent work includes: set and costume design for Malthouse Theatre's production of Blood Wedding (2012), the production design for Finucane & Smith's Carnival of Mysteries, a highlight of the 2010 Melbourne International Arts Festival and 'A Good Death’, a dark and decorative multi-faceted exhibition for the 2010 Next Wave Festival.

The Sisters Hayes strive to make work that is narrative driven, handcrafted, theatrical and materially beautiful. Working communally to conceive, research and present ideas, The Sisters craft and stitch together shared stories.
